Tribalism: Good Enough? Antichrist?
Is tribalism false Unity in disguise?
In theology, the Antichrist doesn’t oppose the Christ principle head-on – it substitutes for it, resembling the Light closely enough to mislead. Tribalism looks and feels like Unity – shared values, mutual support. Is this the way? Or is it “good enough” leading us astray?
What Is “Good Enough”?
For me, it’s the insidious path to mediocrity. It’s the opposite of excellence.
It’s the easy path cherished by lack of imagination… or worse, by intellectual laziness.
It’s when you stop at the first shiny idea and fool yourself into believing it’s the right one… or worse, when you give up because doing it right is “too complicated”.
It’s OK to be just good enough at some point in the process, as a stepping stone – not if we stop there.
What Is “Antichrist”?
The Greek anti means not only “against” and “opposite of”, but also “in place of”.
In theology, the Antichrist does not oppose the Christ principle frontally – it substitutes for it with something that resembles the Light. This is precisely what makes it insidious.
Antichrist is not necessarily a person – it can be a force or an idea that inverts Christ-like values (Love, Unity, Truth).
What Is Unity?
👉 See What Is Unity? for more.
We experience the world as an apparent duality.
At the core, there are only two driving forces: Love and Fear – Fear being the absence of Love.
There’s Unity and Separation. Separation is the absence of Unity, and is rooted in Fear.
What Is Tribalism?
A tribe is a closed, independent group of people sharing a common culture – values, mindsets, interests, etc.
The genesis of a tribe can be expressed as: “I want others in my tribe to be like me.”
A tribe is based on conditionally “unity” – where difference is not welcome.
Therefore, there will be multiple tribes in the world – all different and isolated, rooted in “us against others”.
Is Tribalism an Antichrist?
Tribalism closely mimics Unity while encoding division as its core.
Tribes are conditionally united independent groups… that’s Separation!
Tribalism is NOT Unity! It’s the easy way out to hide Fear.
It’s a ”good enough” idea… dangerous if we stop there!
But Unity Playground Is a Tribe!
Yes… but the project is not a single tribe, nor a bunch of separated tribes.
The name is Unity Playgrounds (plural!) – for a good reason: it’s a swarm of united tribes.
There are two major differences: deeply rooted in Unity and driven by excellence.
Like I explained in “What is Unity?”, to understand how Unity works among Unity Playgrounds: think in terms of Russian dolls and lowest common denominator.
At the top level of Unity Playgrounds – hopefully one day, humanity – there’s only one lowest common denominator:
We are all Human Beings on Earth. We are all different and that’s precisely why Unity Makes Strength.
Then there’s an infinite number of sublevels, with more fine-grained Unity… which is not Separation because there’s overarching Unconditional Unity – Pure Love, without Fear.
